Dr. Banhi Jha

A Fashion Design graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, Banhi Jha holds a PhD in Education. She has three decades of work experience at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi where she has served as Dean of Academics NIFT, first Head of publication and Editor-in-chief of the NIFT Journal of Fashion. Her teaching experience spans undergraduate-level studies to PhD supervision specialising in fashion studies, sustainability practices in the apparel industry, and fashion education. She has provided consultancy on government projects on design and prototype development. She has presented at national and international conferences; and has book chapters and research papers in trade magazines and peer-reviewed journals to her credit. A writer and editor of textbooks on fashion design and fashion retail for a national school board and national university, she has also served as a member of national and international committees on fashion and sustainability.
